TSRI and UCSD are pleased to announce the “Visible Molecular Cell Consortium” (VMCC), a new inter-institutional alliance to build unrivaled capabilities for mapping cells across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales. The first phase of this alliance is the establishment of dual-laboratory mentorship fellowship program to nucleate state-of-the art collaborative research that creates new bridges between scientific disciplines, scales of biological structure and dynamics, and the two institutions.
You are invited to participate in the VMCC kickoff event
October 2, 2015
8:30 am – 1:00 pm
The Sanford Consortium Auditorium
Breakfast and Lunch will be served
The goal of the event is to introduce the vision for VMCC to interested scientists at TSRI and UCSD, to discuss the goals of the dual laboratory mentorship fellowship, and to provide a venue for discovery and development of potential new partnerships from Principal Investigators at the two institutions as fellowship dual mentors.
A key aspect of this event is to give participants the opportunity to present their research in a 5 minute lightening talk, in order to facilitate discussions between investigators about potential collaborations seeded by the dual laboratory mentored fellowships. Following the lightning talks, there will be time and facilities for participants to discuss potential collaborations one-on-one.
Please RSVP if you are planning to attend this event, and indicate whether or not you would like to give a 5 minute lightening talk at visiblemolecularcell@gmail.com
We look forward to your participation.
Rommie Amaro (UCSD) and Art Olson (TSRI)
